INEC registers 21 new political parties

Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has registered twenty one (21) more political parties, making the total number of political parties in the country sixty seven (67).
According to a press release issued by the commission yesterday, the newly registered parties are; All Blending Party, (ABP), All Grassroots Alliance, (AGA), Alliance For New Nigeria, (ANN), Abundance Nigeria Renewal Party (ANRP), Coalition For Change, (C4C), Freedom and Justice Party, (FJP), Grassroots Development Party of Nigeria, (GDPN) and Justice Must Prevail Party, (JMPP).
Others are; Legacy Party of Nigeria, (LPN), Mass Action Joint Alliance, (MAJA), Modern Democratic Party, (MDP), National Interest Party, (NIP), National Rescue Mission, (NRM), New Progressives Movement, (NPM), Nigeria Democratic Congress Party, (NDCP), Peoples Alliance for National Development and Liberty, (PANDEL).
The rest are; Peoples Trust, (PT), Providence Peoples Congress, (PPC), Re-Build Nigeria Party, (RBNP), Restoration Party of Nigeria, (RP), Sustainable National Party, (SNP). Making the total number of political parties in the country 67.
However, the committee set up to look into the multiple registration of the Kogi State Governor, Yahyah Bello, in the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration, CVR, has submitted its report, leading to the summary dismissal of two staff for gross misconduct and the immediate and compulsory retirement of an Electoral Officer for act of gross misconduct. As for the governor, owing to his immunity, he cannot be prosecuted for now.
On the Anambra Central Senatorial District re-run election, the commission said it was still waiting for the Certified True Copy of the judgment of the Federal High Court Abuja, to enable it take its decision on the matter.
