INEC okays 44 observer groups for Anambra guber poll

…..Approves change of name , amendment of ADPM logo
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has given its nod for forty four (44) Observer groups to participate in the November 18, Anambra Governorship Election.

The list is made up ofthirty-eight (38) domestic and six International observer groups.

The International Observer groups include: British High Commission; International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES); American Embassy Abuja; European Union; High Commission of Canada; and African Union Economic Social and Cultural Council.

The domestic groups include: African Centre for Leadership, Strategy & Development; Centre for Credible Leadership & Citizens Awareness; Initiative for Promotion of Civic Obligation & Sustainable;

African Initiative for Sustainable and Positive Development; Network of Civil Society Organisation in Nigeria; Community Life Project/Reclaim Naija; Fundamental Rights League International; Northern Patriotic Front; CONAC (Church of Nigeria Anglican Community); and Patrotic Women Foundation.

Others are: Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom (WIPF) Nigeria Women Situation Room Nigeria; Justice & Equity Organisation; NEPAD NIGERIA; Citizens Rights and Leadership Awareness International; Nigerian Bar Association;

African Youth International Development Foundation; Global Initiative for Civic Training and Youth Development; Inclusive Friends Association; Transition Monitoring Group (TMG); Center for Transparency Advocacy ;

National Committee of Patriots; Society for Equity, Justice & Peace (SEJUP) Anglican Communion; and National Democratic Institute for International Affairs.

Also approved as domestic Observers are; Independent Service Delivery Monitoring Group (ISDMG); Youth Initiative for Advocacy, Growth and Advancement (YIAGA); Human Rights Monitor;

Advocacy for Quality Leadership and Health Foundation; Election Monitor; International Org. for Sustainable Development; Nigerian Civil Society Situation Room (Policy & Legal Advocacy Centre); Centre for Citizens with Disabilities (CCD); Justice Development and Peace Commission (JDPC);

Coalition of Democracy for Electoral Reform; Public – Private Sector Initiative; Connected Development (CODE); National Council for Women Societies (NCWS); Centre for Democracy and Development (CDD); and New View Global Initiative for Youth & Women Development .

The Commission would start issuance of Form EPMC 002 to approved groups from October 3, 2017 for completion and return not later than Monday 30, October 2017.

In another development, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has approved the change of name and adjustment of logo of the All Democratic Peoples Movement (ADPM) to All Grand Alliance Party (AGAP).

The Commission has approved the issuance of a Certificate of Registration in the name of All Grand Alliance Party (AGAP).

These were contained in a bulletin released yesterday by the Commission in Abuja.
