The Indian High commissioner to Nigeria, Nagabushana Reddy said plans are underway towards increasing Indian trade investments in Nigeria especially in critical sectors of the economy where both countries have comparative advantages.

The envoy was speaking at an event to commemorate the Indian 71st Independence anniversary in Abuja, on Wednesday, where he disclosed that India is emerging as a development partner with Nigeria, and will continue to support her national development priorities.

He said that a mutually beneficial engagement that will bring about the needed transformation to both countries is important given the historical and cultural similarities of both countries.
