Imposition of candidates is undemocratic- Group warns APC NWC

A group under the umbrella of Kautal Khairu, has called on the National Working Committee (NWC) of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to desist from the habit imposing candidates on the people of Adamawa state.
Describing the action of the NWC as undemocratic, the group said that the people of the state will resists any attempt by the party members to
Impose president Buhari’s in-law, Dr. Mahmood Halilu Ahmed also known as Modi as the governorship candidate of APC in the state.
Addressing a press conference in Yola, the leader of the group, Mahmud Alkali expressed dissatisfaction with the lopsided interference of the NWC in the affairs of the state party chapter.
He warns the NWC of dire consequences if the party went ahead with its planned move to impose Modi as the torchbearer of the party.
“We are watching with keen interest the unfolding events in the party and wish to draw the attention of the NWC on the dangers of imposing governorship candidate and other forms of impunity.
“From all indications, the postponement of the scheduled gubernatorial primary election in Adamawa was a deliberate ploy to impose an aspirant and in-law to President Muhammadu Buhari in person of Modi Halilu.”
While calling on the NWC to in the interest of peace shelve their planned injustice, the group called on its teeming supporters to remain calm as stakeholders of the party are working round the clock to ensure the entrenchment of justice and fair-play in the contest.
