Impeachment in Ondo: Masari leads reconciliation c’ttee

The All Progressives Congress, (APC) has inaugurated a reconciliation Committee, to look into the crisis, rocking the Ondo State chapter of the party.
The committee led by Aminu Bello Masari, former Governor of Katsina State is to look into the impasse between the State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu and his Deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa with a view to finding an amicable resolution and report to the party within one week.
Ganduje, while inaugurating the Committee at the party National Secretariat, Buhari House, Abuja on Friday, lauded the capability of the committee, charging them to find a peaceful resolution of the lingering problem, with the aim of finding a lasting solution.

Recall that it was earlier reported that the Deputy Governor is being investigated for gross misuse of office.
This was explained in a petition, signed by nine, out of the 26 members of the State House of Assembly members that the Deputy Governor, Aiyedatiwa reportedly, approved N300 million for the purchase of a bulletproof SUV for his personal use while he was the acting Governor, following the medical vacation of Governor, Akeredolu.
It was also alleged that Aiyedatiwa, ordered the N300 million to be sourced from the N2 billion Palliative fund, recently extended to the State, by the Federal Government, to cushion the effect of fuel subsidy removal.
At the inauguration, Ganduje explained the committee’s terms of reference to includes: “Interface and engage with all contending partners’ with a view to gathering facts and circumstances surrounding the lingering impeachment process of the Deputy Governor.
“To advise the party, on the most amicable ways of handling the lingering issues leading to the impeachment process and to make necessary recommendations to the party on resolution of issues and any other matter that may crop up, at the course of the assignment.”
Responding on behalf of its members, Masari thanked the party for the privilege, urging the chairman, Ganduje to direct all parties concerned, to hold their peace, in other to allow the party’s reconciliatory process achieve its course.
He assured the National Chairman of an extensive and vigorous efforts within the given timeline that will meet the expectations of the party.
Members of the Committee includes, Minister of Marine and Blue Economy and immediate past Governor of Osun State, Gboyega Oyetola, former Bauchi State Governor, MA Abubakar, (SAN); former Governor of Ebonyi State, Martins Elechi; Lagos State Deputy Governor, Obafemi Hamzat; Senators Jack Tilley Gyado, Florence Ita Giwa Tokunbo Abiru and Liman Abbas, who is to serve as secretary, to the committee.
