The leadership of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and the United Peoples Party (UPP) in Imo State have called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to conduct fresh governorship and state house of assembly elections instead of the proposed rerun.

The parties made their positions known on Monday in separate statements.
INEC has scheduled Saturday April 25 for a rerun of the Imo state elections following the inconclusive elections held on April 11, 2015.
