Why I’ll continue building roads in Abia – Ikpeazu

Abia State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, says he will continue building roads in the state to give Abians the sense of belonging.

Ikpeazu stated this in Aba while commissioning a cluster of five roads recently completed by his administration at the Ngwa road area recently.

The roads include Ibadan Street, Agharanya, Onyebuchi, Emejiaka and Victoria streets, all by Ngwa road sin Aba.

The Governor said he was touched by the plight of the people of the area as they have been neglected over the years, describing the state of the roads before now as pitiable.
According to him, his administration has also procured a 40 KVA generating set to power street lights and thus extend business hours in the area, and reassured residents of the area of his love, warning them however not to block the roads with their wares.

Heeding the warning, he said, will ginger him to do three additional roads in the area before the end of the year, stating his belief in empowering youths in the state while assuring them that anyone doing well in his vocation will be assisted by the government.
He advised Abians to participate in the on-going voters registration exercise and reaffirmed his commitment to the service of the state.

Speaking during the occasion, the senator representing Abia South Senatorial Zone, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, lauded Governor Ikpeazu for his infrastructural revolution across the state while commending Aba people for their patience and support.

In his remarks, the Commissioner for Works, Eziuche Ubani, said the roads were done with rigid pavement technology as well as end to end drainages, pointing out that the aim was to relieve residents of the area of their plight as well as to enhance commercial activities.
