Ahead of 2019 general election in Abia State, the state Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, has set up a seven man Reconciliation Committee headed by Architect Benson Ezem with a task to reconcile all Abians. The committee has since been inaugurated.
Inaugurating the committee in Government House, Umuahia, Governor Ikpeazu charged members of the committee to reconcile all opinions and individuals in the state, stressing that everyone has a contribution to make in the development of the state.
The Governor said it is as a result his desire to carry everybody along and make sure everybody is given the platform of contributing to the governance of the state that the committee was set up.
The team, he said, was carefully chosen based on the character of the members of the team and maintained that the assignment would be taken to all the 17 local government areas in the state.
Ikpeazu assured that the government would assist the committee to discharge its duties and hoped the members would perform.
Responding, Chairman of the committee, Architect Benson Ezem, promised that the committee would be committed to the assignment.
He thanked the Governor for giving them the opportunity to serve in the reconciliation committee.
The members include Igwe Nonso Ogbunamiri; Gladys Nwamuo; J.C Mbonu; Joseph Ogwo; Navy Captain Chris Osondu (rtd.) and Chinedum Elechi, who would serve as the secretary.
