Ikpeazu flags off construction of Ohafia ring road

….Says it will enhance economic dev’t of Abia
Abia State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, at the weekend, flagged of the construction of the Ohafia ring road to ease traffic and enhance economic development of the state.

Flagging off the road construction exercise, the Governor described the ring road as economically strategic to Ohafia and the state.

He said that the road is part of his campaign promise to Ohafia people, describing Ohafia as important to the state.

As a major access to Ohafia, the Governor assured that work will not stop on the project until it is completed, adding that it is his desire that congestion is not witnessed in Ohafia this coming Christmas.

He therefore charged the contractor handling the project to do proper soil analysis to ensure quality job that will outlive the administration.

Addressing the people of Ohafia earlier during the second edition of the Pan-Ohafia new yam festival at Achichi Elu Ohafia, Governor Ikpeazu assured them that his administration places premium on Ohafia and called on the people to continue support his administration.

The Governor, who was conferred with the chieftaincy title of Isibuzo by the Udumeze Ohafia, by Eze (Prof.) Emmanuel Imaga, thanked Ohafia people for their support.

Earlier, Chairman of Ohafia Local Government Area, John Eke Njoku, applauded the Governor for his love for Ohafia people, explaining that the road when completed will impact positively on his people.

Also speaking, the member representing Ohafia South in the state House of Assembly, Hon Ifeanyi Uchendu, appreciated the efforts of the Governor especially in road construction and assured him that the entire Ohafia people will re-elect in 2019.

The Deputy Chief of Staff to the Governor, Chief Ukpai Agwu Ukpai, commended the Governor for paying back to the people of Ohafia for their support and assured him of their total support.

The Governor later commissioned the Ohafia unity hall built by Hon Ifeanyi Uchendu.
