Ikpeazu flags off construction of abandoned Igwu River Bridge

Abia State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, on Tuesday, flagged off the construction of the Igwu River Bridge in Ndiebe Abam, Arochukwu Local Government Area abandoned since 2014.
Speaking while flagging off the construction work, the Governor assured that job will be completed within three months.
He said that the poor state of the bridge has remained a challenge to his government, promising that the construction work will be supervised very closely to ensure that work does not stop until completed.
The Governor charged the community to cooperate with the contractor handling the project to ensure its speedy completion and commended Hon Uko Nkole, the member representing Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal constituency in the House of Representatives for his relentless effort in seeing to the construction of the bridge.
Earlier, the member representing Ohafia Arochukwu federal constituency, Hon Uko Nkole, told the Governor that the bridge collapsed since 2014 and has adversely affected communal interconnectivity.
He thanked the Governor for his love for Abam people and assured him of their support.
