The Bayelsa State Government has assured Bayelsans that the Igbogene/Tombia and the Ekeremor/Sagbama Roads will be commissioned in February, 2023.
Commissioner for Works in Bayelsa State, Moses Teibowei, who disclosed this to journalists who went on projects tour to different sites of road construction, said one can drive from Igbogene to Tombia now, even with a smaller car.
Disclosing that Sagbama/ Ekeremor Road construction has slightly gone beyond Ayamassa, the Commissioner also assured that all things being equal, the Angiama/Oporoma Road will be completed within the next 24 months of the prosperity administration.
Speaking elaborately on Angiama/Oporoma Road, the Commissioner said that significant progress has been made on the road, adding that the project was progressing as scheduled.
Teibowei maintained: “Already, the brims have been casted. So the next stage is to launch 25 brims to cross the river and remove the floating bridge there.”
Revealing that the bill of engineering measurement and evaluation has doubled, he disclosed that”the bill they gave us the specific figure for that bridge has almost doubled.

“So, we are looking at the funding aspect of it so that we don’t disappoint ourselves but I can assure that we should be able to get to Oporoma in 24 months. I strongly believe that we will be able to achieve what I have in the maximum two years. What I can tell you is that they have started and there is no going back, DailyTimesNGR gathered.
“Everything has been put in place, so, going further, we will not have any problems. I’m very confident that the company will keep to time as long as government does not disappoint in meeting up its own financial obligations to the company.
“The road itself will serve as a dike to prevent flooding and areas where there are creeks, we always make provisions for culverts and close to the bridge, there will be a canal to take care of any flooding challenge.”
