Ibadan airport resumes domestic flight operations
Ibadan Airport – Following three months suspension of Local airports due to the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic, the Ibadan Airport has joined other airports in the country to resume domestic flight operations.
Recall, domestic flights resumed July 8 at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport and Murtala Mohammed Airport in Abuja and Lagos respectively.

Meanwhile, DailyTimes gathered that the officials at the Ibadan airport were in compliance with the covid-19 rules as they were seen disinfecting travel bags and taking temperature level of travelers entering the departure hall.
According to reports, foot-signs distancing were also seen at the ticketing, boarding and arrival hall of the airport to ensure that passengers obey the social distancing order.
Furthermore, in an interview with newsmen, the Ibadan Airport Manager, Mrs Tega Ayenuro, said that the Airport assured that all COVID-19 protocols would be strictly followed to curb further spread.
She also stated, “When coming in, you have to get your hands sanitised or you wash them and you also observe the social distancing while standing, walking or sitting,”.
DailyTimes further gathered that, the flight operation into the Airport resumed with the landing of Overland Airways’ aircraft marked 5N – BRQ from Lagos at exactly 8:05 a.m and departed to Abuja at exactly 8:45 am, after nine passengers had boarded..
” Today being the first flight, it is like an inaugural flight and we had nine passengers.”
Moreover, some of the staff of Ibadan Airport were excited over the resumption of flights at the airport and pledged to abide by COVID-19 guidelines as they carry out their duties.
