I will leave fiscal sustainability after 8 yrs – Obiano

Anambra State government has expressed determination to harness every available potential to make the state economically viable.
The State governor, Dr. Willie Obiano who stated this in Awka noted that his administration would continue investing heavily to improve the welfare of the people.
“With the structures I put in place the state will be economically independent without depending on federal allocation or joint allocation. This will take care of recurrent and capital projects. I have achieved 60per cent of this and the remaining will be achieved after my eight years term,” Obiano said.
He stressed the need to strengthen the security system in the state by providing security apparatus, especially to local vigilante to enable them perform effectively.
According to him, “We will continue our partnership with vigilante groups in various communities. We have empowered them with adequate logistics and we pay N20,000 to over 30 of them monthly.”
“We are doing all these necessary arrangements for the good of the people. When we achieve the fiscal independence, it will take care of workers and traders in the state.”
Obiano however, disclosed that he would achieve this through heavy investments in agriculture and attraction of investors in the state to create job opportunities and increase internally generated revenue.
