For those that do not know, DJ Jesse Neo is a singer-songwriter from Australia that is currently based in Los Angeles. Having been in the music industry for almost five years and have visited Nigeria countless times, he realized Nigeria has a melting pot of talented producers and composers that the world has yet to see.
Hence, with his already existing music marketplace platform, Gemtracks Beats, which has become very popular in North America and Europe over the years, he has decided to target Nigerian musicians to sign up.
“When the coronavirus pandemic started and I realized that everything was becoming virtual, I knew that music would follow suit,” the 23-year-old musician and entrepreneur stated.
“Nigeria has already been the number one country many international companies have chosen to find freelancers. Now I want to bring Nigerian musicians to the world.”
As recommend by Business Insider (Africa), Gemtracks Beats offers freelancers the chance to sell instrumental beats. These include everything from pop beats and trap beats. Customers of these beats include singers and even record labels from around the world.
This means anyone that decide to work on Gemtracks Beats could potentially see their names in the credit section of major media companies.
Besides being a marketplace for beats, freelancers are also able to offer custom services to their customers. These include mixing music, writing lyrics and even designing album artworks.
Freelancers are free to set the price and decide on the rights of the song once they are released, making it a win-win for both parties.
“I’m just so excited to see the world becoming a smaller place due to the internet,” the DJ said.
“Now anyone in any country can collaborate together while learning about their different cultures.”
