I can only quit Dortmund for Real—Aubameyang
BRIEFS
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang claims playing for Real Madrid is his “main goal” and that the European champions are the only club that could persuade him to leave Borussia Dortmund. The Gabon international stated in an interview last year that he had made a promise to his grandfather that he would one day play for Madrid. Aubameyang also reiterated that only Zinedine Zidane’s side could tempt him away from Signal Iduna Park.
Stoke snap up Sobhi
Stoke City have completed a deal to sign highly-rated Egypt winger Ramadan Sobhi for a fee that could rise to €6m (£5m) after his work permit is granted. The 19-year-old helped his club Al Ahly to the Egyptian title last season, under former Tottenham manager Martin Jol. Sobhi scored 17 goals in 71 appearances for the club in just over two years at the club.
Bordeaux target Debuchy
Bordeaux are set to approach Arsenal to try to sign full-back Mathieu Debuchy, according to reliable sources. Debuchy spent the second half of last season on loan at the Ligue 1 club but only made nine appearances due to injury. Reports revealed that Bordeaux would like to sign Debuchy on a permanent deal but would be open to a loan move if necessary. He has three years left on his contract at Arsenal, but has played just 12 games for the club since joining from Newcastle in July 2014.
Zanetti wants Simeone back at Inter
Inter vice-president Javier Zanetti would welcome the return of Diego Simeone as head coach in future. The Atletico Madrid coach played alongside his compatriot at San Siro for two years, and was part of the side that lifted the UEFA Cup in 1998. Reports in Italy have suggested that current boss Roberto Mancini is under threat of the sack, with Simeone – who has said it would be “a dream” to take charge at Inter during his career – touted as a potential replacement.
