Hulk Hogan, wrestling legend, dies at 71

Hulk Hogan, one of the most iconic figures in professional wrestling, has died at the age of 71.

Born Terry Gene Bollea, the WWE Hall of Famer reportedly passed away early Thursday morning at his home in Clearwater, Florida, following a suspected cardiac arrest.

Emergency responders confirmed his death shortly after arriving at the scene around 5:00 a.m.

Hogan rose to global stardom in the 1980s as the face of the then World Wrestling Federation (WWF), thrilling fans with his towering physique, flamboyant charisma, and trademark red-and-yellow gear.

A 12-time world champion across WWF/WWE and WCW, Hogan was central to some of wrestling’s most iconic moments, including his legendary bodyslam of André the Giant before 93,000 fans at WrestleMania III in 1987.

Beyond the squared circle, he appeared in movies like Mr. Nanny and Suburban Commando, and starred in the 1990s action TV show Thunder in Paradise.

Despite controversies in his later years, Hogan remained a towering pop culture presence. Earlier in 2025, he launched Real American Freestyle Wrestling and a branded beer company. He had also remarried and was reportedly enjoying retirement with his wife, Sky Daily.

In a statement, WWE described him as “a global icon and a trailblazer who changed the landscape of sports entertainment forever.”

Hogan is survived by Sky and his two children, Brooke and Nick, from a previous marriage. Funeral details are expected in the coming days.
