How we helped Police rearrest serial killer Sunday Shodipe — Oyo Hunters

Following the rearrest of Oyo state suspected serial killer, Sunday Shodipe, the head of Soludero Hunters, Nurein Ajijolanabai, has explained the significant role the hunters played to rearrest the serial killer.
Ajijolaanabi said his boys led a team of policemen to the residence of the suspect’s grandma in the Bodija area of Ibadan where he was rearrested.
He stated, “The boy has mentioned some names and the police and my boys are searching for those he mentioned.

“We are not even asking the police for the ₦500,000 bounty, but we won’t reject it if they give us. We are doing what we are doing because we want our communities to be free of criminals.
“The DPO of the Ojoo Police Station contacted us, and some of our boys led them to where he was re-arrested at Bodija.”
Daily Times had reported that the serial killer, Sunday Shodipe, was rearrested at the Akinyele Local Government Area of Oyo State on Sunday, August 23.
The Police Public Relations Officer in Oyo State, Mr Olugbenga Fadeyi, who confirmed this in Ibadan, said the 19-year-old suspect was back in custody.
The Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, commended the Commissioner of Police in Oyo State, Nwachukwu Enwonwu, and his team for re-arresting the suspect.
The IG also warned the state police command against complacency in a statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, Frank Mba.
Daily Times recalls a statement from the Commissioner of Police, Oyo State Command, CP. Joe Nwachukwu Enwonwu, announcing that the prime suspect in the serial killings at Akinyele Local Government Area, Moniya Ibadan, Sunday Shodipe, who was arrested and paraded along with two others on July 17, 2020, and later charged to court but remanded in police custody, escaped from lawful custody on August 11.
The Police had placed a ₦500,000 bounty on whoever that reveals Shodipe whereabouts and stated that it will disclose to journalists shortly who will be given the bounty.
