How Come Humanity Got to This Depraved State?

If you have observed what is happening across the world at present, especially in countries where terrorism has berthed, you will shudder at the depravity of human beings as represented by terrorists.
Recall that on Thursday, April 2, 2015, al-Shabaab Islamists stormed Garissa University College in north eastern Kenya, killing no fewer than 147 persons.
Add this to the daily killings, slaughtering, beheading, executions and burning of human captives by the Islamic State in Iraqi and Syria (ISIS), and Nigeria’s Boko Haram Islamic sect among other terror groups, then you will weep for humanity.
How come humanity came to this sorry pass where spilling of human blood and other atrocious acts have become the order of the day? How come human beings no longer shudder at the deliberate decimation of lives in the name of religion, ideology or whatever?
Poser: Don’t these terrorists who daily bombard the internet with pictures of their ‘exploits’ have blood flowing in their veins? Again, which religion or ideology justifies spilling of human blood or makes killing, slaughtering, beheading, burning and execution of captives a qualification for making ‘paradise’? In fact, the questions are endless.
Fact is that every human life is to be held precious and protected, but terrorists want to reverse this. They are persuading the global community to accept that bloodletting is the way to go in enforcing their worldview.
But can this really be true? Are human beings now chickens, goats and cows to be killed, slaughtered or burnt at will? No, and never!
So, we all, irrespective of the climes we live in, race, religion or class must stand united in upholding the sanctity of human life. Each one of us must discourage people around us from embracing extreme and warped worldviews which terrorists are propagating. We must refrain from eulogizing the heinous acts of terrorists publicly or privately; rather we all must use every means available to us to assist those caught in the terrorists’ web to come out of their depravity and delusion.
