Homosexuality: Man declared wanted as mob lynches gay partner

There was tension in the Ituku community, Awgu Local Government Area of Enugu State within the week as a mob descended on a homosexual who had been on the watchlist of the vigilante group.

A community leader, Mazi Okafor Samuel told our correspondent that but for the intervention of the police, the mob was on the verge of setting the homosexual ablaze after his partner escaped.

Trouble started when an indigene of the community, Eze Chukwuma Oliver invited his gay partner, identified as Bismarck Adigwe.

However, a neighbour, who had hitherto suspected Oliver’s homosexual lifestyle recorded their sexual escapade through an opening in a window unknown to them.

He raced to the community’s vigilante group and made the video evidence available to them.

It was gathered that the vigilante group, accompanied by a mob arrived at the scene within minutes, but Oliver had escaped before their arrival, leaving only his friend behind.

“The mob descended on the young man without hesitation and beat him black and blue.

“They were about to set him ablaze when the police arrived and rescued. They took him to their station, Chief Okafor disclosed.

He added that the community had already banished Oliver for committing such atrocity in their land.

Meanwhile, a document obtained by our correspondent also confirmed that Oliver has been engaging in the abominable lifestyle.

The affidavit deposed to by his brother, Chigozie Kenneth Eze, detailed how he had been indulging in homosexuality.

According to Kenneth, “I know as a fact that the EZE CHUKWUMA OLIVER is a homosexual/gay and is only attracted to male genders.

“His seal orientation started in his teenage years while he was in secondary education and he used to influence his schoolmates to engage in homosexuality with and they did report him to the school authority then.

“That our parents, upon noting his “odd” sexuality, took him to several prayer houses and voodoo spiritual houses for spiritual healing, but to no avail.

“The EZE CHUKWUUMA OLIVER continued engaging in homosexuality after his secondary days till date.”

He added that although the family forced him into getting a girl pregnant in a view to changing his orientation, he continued until the ill-fated day.

Kenneth further disclosed that Oliver’s wife was not spared as the vigilante stormed her location and beat her up in a bid to extract information from her on Oliver’s whereabouts.

“The physical and mental attack meted out on his wife led to serious health complications, and she slumped and became unconscious and was rushed to the hospital with an ambulance.

“That upon examination, the medical doctor recommended an immediate cesarean section for the safety of the baby and the wife.

“Unfortunately, his wife died a few hours after the surgery while the baby was delivered alive.

“That ever since then, he had been a target from the police, the neighborhood security men, his late wife’s family and even our own family.

“That he is now a fugitive in our country Nigeria, as no place is safe for him,” he further averred in the affidavit sworn before NOTARY PUBLIC/COMMISSIONER FOR OATHS.

Meanwhile, a senior police officer at the Enugu Police Division confirmed to our correspondent that Oliver had been declared wanted.

He said a case of homosexuality had been established against Oliver, stressing that “there is video evidence to that effect.

“His gay partner who was rescued from a mob has already been charged to court.

“Oliver is on the run, but no matter how long it takes, we shall get him.”
