Head of Service tasks Town planners on physical planning

The State Head of Service, Anambra State, Barrister Harry Uduh, has said that the state’s 2018 budget presented by Governor Willie Obiano has expectations from the Ministry of Lands and Urban Development to improve the state Internally Generated Revenue (IGR).

Barrister Uduh, who stated this at the end of year get-together of Town Planers in the Ministry, in Awka, charged Town Planners to be more dedicated and committed to their duties, to achieve their purpose of an orderly environment.

He noted that as Town planners, all should be ICT compliance as it will enable them work smartly and monitor any recent development in all parts of the state for immediate action.

The Head of Service assured them that the state government will make available to them all necessary enablement that will aid place Anambra State in its rightful position in country.

The Commissioner for Lands and Urban Development, Sir Okay Muoka reminded Town Planners of the need to maintain good professional conduct in the discharge of their duty.

The Land Commissioner represented by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mr. Daniel Okoli, noted that with the rate of development in the state, they should enforce all city plans in their localities for orderly and serene environment and shun any act capable of tarnishing the image of the Ministry.

The Commissioner pointed out that the Ministry has mapped out packages for the staff welfare in 2018 to appreciate all those who have made useful impact in the Ministry.

Also speaking, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Security and Vigilante Matters, Chief Chikodi Anaraa, acknowledged the difficulties and challenges Town planers encounter in the course of their duty and stated categorically that these are not acceptable.

He assured that through his office and all the sister agencies, they would be provided conducive working environment devoid of harassment and molestation of any kind.
