Gunmen kidnap police inspector in Lagos

Detectives from the Lagos State Police Command have begun a manhunt to rescue an Inspector of Police who was captured by hoodlums at Akodo area of Ibeju Lekki of the state.
It was gathered that the police officer, identified as Musa Sunday, was captured while on rescue mission of a resident who was attacked by suspected land grabbers known as omo nile who stormed the area with guns and other weapons to dislodge a rival faction.
It was learnt that the gunmen killed three persons and abducted a man but the police got wind of the fracas and chased the hoodlums.
A source who requested anonymity said: “The gunmen kidnapped a man. They shot at others and killed three persons.  Police got wind of the attack and chased the hoodlums. One policeman was shoot while they kidnapped an Inspector identified as Musa Sunday.”
The state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Fatia Owoseni, who led police detectives to the scene where they recovered AK 47 rifles, have deployed his men to the area to rescue the Police Inspector.
