Gunmen Kidnap Five Exxonmobil Staff in a’Ibom
Five ExxonMobil personnel at Floating Storage and Offloading Vessel (FSO) in Ibeno Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom State have been kidnapped by gunmen.
An inside source who pleaded anonymity told our correspondent that five indigenous personnel who were working offshore at ExxonMobil were kidnapped on Monday at FSO by militants.
He said that due to the fear of abduction and post-election violence, the management of ExxonMobil and workers resorted to resuming work at about 11.30 a.m from April 1.
The source further said that since the incident, the management had been shutting down production by 1p.m at QIT, Ibeno.
