Gunmen attack another police station in Imo, 2 officers injured, 1 missing

In the early hours of Thursday, unknown gunmen targeted the Mbieri Divisional Police Headquarters in the Mbaitoli Local Government Area of Imo state.

Around 1 a.m., the fleeing gunmen hit, and the suspects in police custody were instantly released.

Suspects’ and police operatives’ phones were also taken from the police station by the hoodlums.

Orlando Ikeokwu, the state’s police public relations officer, confirmed the assault, saying one police officer was missing and two others were wounded as a result of the officers’ resistance.

Mr. Ikeokwu also reported that the gunmen released several arrested suspects in the police station.
