Guber Poll: ALGON Tasks Electorate On Peaceful Conduct

The National President, Association Of Local Government Of Nigeria (ALGON) Hon. Micah Jiba, has urged Nigerians in the rural areas to continue to be peaceful and accommodating during and after the Saturday’s governorship and State House of Assembly election.

The ALGON boss made this call in Abuja during an interaction with journalists and expressed his appreciation to Nigerians for their conduct during the past presidential and the national assembly elections adding that the act has further united the entire country.

He pleaded for more corporations and assured that in few months ALGON will go all out and ensure that every promises made by incoming public office holders especially the president elect and governors are fulfilled.

He said that ALGON will also negotiate with the president elect Mohammadu Buhari to work together with the out going president Goodluck Jonathan to ensure the Federal Government’s commitment to implement the reports and recommendations of the National Conference including those that affect local government and Federal Capital Territory.

Jiba also commended President Jonathan for the role he has been playing in carrying all stakeholders in the project Nigeria along.

“This present administration has represented you very well in both national and international level and we want to use this medium to task the president elect to focus more on projects and programmes that will directly affect the rural dwellers positively. We also hope that the fight over local government autonomy will be given more priority attention this time around” he said.

Jiba therefore, called on the electorate to put Nigerian project first above any other religious or ethnic sentiment while exercising their franchise at the poll.
