Guaranty Trust Bank has appointed Mr. Babatunde T. Soyoye as an independent non-executive director to fill the vacancy created on the Board by Mr. Andrew Alli, who retired from the bank as independent non-executive director.
Already, the Central Bank of Nigeria has statutorily approved the appointment of Soyoye, a professional with over 24 years’ work experience, 21 of which have been in investment/financial advisory services.
The bank in a statement noted that he was a co-founder and managing partner of Helios Investment Partners LLP, a private investment firm with its principal office in the United Kingdom, formed to pursue alternative asset class investments in sub-Saharan Africa, specializing in investment in companies, growth capital for private enterprises, restructurings, joint ventures, start-ups and structured investments.
Prior to co-founding Helios Investment Partners, Soyoye was a principal responsible for Telecoms & Media investment across Europe for TPG Capital.
He has served as a senior member of the corporate strategy team at British Telecoms and manager of business development at Singapore Telecom International.
