Group slam IBEDC for exorbitant estimated bills

The people of Ado-Odo/Ota local government Ogun State and the Balanced Measure Impact Initiatives have called on the inhabitants of the area to stop the payment of the exorbitant estimated bills slam on the people by the Ibadan Distribution Company (IBEDC).The bill range from N10,000 to N40,000 per month.
The statement was jointly signed by the National president, chairman, zonal chairman and legal adviser of the association, Engr. Dayo Komolafe, Otunba Lukmon Odewole, Taiwo Ismail and Barrister Dele Babalola respectively.
The directive was issued in view of the fact that contrary to the IBEDC earlier statement in February 20th that their bill will not be more than N1000 per month/house.
“on the issue of outstanding debt, the association held a meeting with Sango-Ota branch of IBEDC that our members should pay only for the electricity consumed by them and the accumulated bill will be waive, which was not adhered to”.
It was further mentioned that all users who paid CAPMI must be metered within the time carved out in the resolution of the commission or that they shouldn’t be charged after the sixty days limit for metering, adding that in the period after the expiration of the sixty days such electricity users cannot be forced or mandated to complete metering of unmetered customers in a space of one year after which, there will be no more estimation to users.
The Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC), was rebuked by the group saying that among the Discos, it is the worst by not complying with the Nigeria Electricity Regulatory Commission(NERC) standards .
