Group replies APC on editorial against Speaker Dogara

A political pressure group ‎known as Bogoro /Dass/Tafawabalewa Solidarity Forum has said that claims by some politicians that speaker Yakubu Dogara left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to All Progressives Congress (APC) at the eve of primary election of the party was far from the truth.

The leader of the Forum, Alhaji Aminu Mohammed Tukur stated this yesterday while reacting to media attacks targeted at the Speaker by the APC ‎in Bauchi.

Tukur said, “There is no iota of truth in that statement as he left the PDP on December 18, 2013, one year before the APC primaries. A visit to the archives would show that he, in fact‎, led the first batch of defectors of 37 Reps that announced their move to the very young APC at that time.

“For the sake of emphasis, it is necessary to stress that Hon Dogara did not leave the PDP in 2013 because he was denied a return ticket. On the contrary, he rejected an offer of return ticket and a huge amount of money to remain in the PDP “.

They described as laughable, claims that APC gave the Speaker automatic ticket in 2014‎ but acknowledged that APC promised automatic tickets to all PDP members who joined the APC then but later on reneged.
