Molasan said Ta’awunil brought to limelight need to raise the best set of people through purification and salvation of souls.

He held that the organisation has been working hard in line with its objectives to eradicate discrimination against any Muslim who believes in Allah and His Apostle.

“What we are doing today is in furtherance of our commitment to wage war against poverty, banish hunger and ameliorate suffering among the people most importantly Muslims.

“This is the prominent part of our activities that centres on the need to assist the needy most especially the widows, widowers, orphans, vulnerable and the less-privileged in the society.

“We have been doing this in the last 24 years because the organisation sees this gesture as the only way to revive the lost glory of charity, alms giving and support for humanity in the society.

“Our organisation always give out foods items to the people irrespective of socio-religious backgrounds.

“This is also part of efforts to organise the seemingly uncoordinated Muslim youthsby assembling them to achieve the required and desired forces for the Ummah.

“We are ever committed to providing conducive atmosphere for Muslims to thrive and actualise their dreams as we have replicated similar gesture in all our 60 branches across the world and today 600 widows selected from different households have been given food items and cash”, Sheik Molaasan stated.

Ta’awunil National President said the organisation believed strongly on the power of social intervention progragmme, an initiative he said would continue to solve the problems of class enslavement and primordial hegemony in the society.

He held that the organisation has been working tremendously in taking Muslims out of weaknesses by building a virile future for younger generation in islam.

Speaking on the purpose of the Centre, he said the idea was nurtured in order to rescue the society from the shackles of illiteracy, unemployment, poverty and other societal challenges.

He said the Centre which is equipped with modern facilities would go a long way to meet the needs of women in terms of empowerment, entrepreneurship, technical and vocational needs.

“Today is another great day in the life of every member of this organisation. It is a day we set aside to remember the challenges that led to our existence coupled with struggle to liberate our people and propagate Islam”.

“We are marking this year anniversary (24th) to distribute food items to the needy and as well commemorate the day with the commission of an edifice, Centre for Women Development.

“Though it is not a day of celebration, but rather a day to rekindle our organisational philosophy and objectives that aimed to assist the needy in the society.

“We have done a lot of social intervention programmes aimed at raising the standard of living of our people and as well empowering the youth through educational and social supports as this programme is part of our activities in view of our resolution to eradicate poverty in our society.

“This social intervention programme which is a critical wing of our programmes is also aimed at showcasing to the world that Islam is a religion of love, peace, unity, harmony and togetherness.

“We are doing this to alleviate suffering in our community by ensuring that our women are equipped with necessity of life because once a woman is empowered, then, one has built a nation.

“We distribute regularly food items and basic needs that can make their lives meaningful and as well empower humanity through free vocational training and technical expertise such as soap making, tailoring, computer operation among others.

“It is in view of this that we established the Centre that will deal with anything that has to do with women both christians and Muslims.

“This Centre is equipped with modern facilities to cater for women’s needs in terms of empowerment, technical, entrepreneurial and vocational trainings.

“This project is to complement our efforts on social protection initiatives most especially the already established orphanage home that was built to cater for the orphans in the society.

“We have done much at ensuring that our people are taken out of illiteracy world through our numerous educational programmes and scholarship as this is manifested in the thousands of people that had in one way or the other benefited from this rare scheme.

Speaking on why the organisation remains committed to charity programmes, Sheik Molasan said, “we are doing this to complement government’s efforts as we believed that government can not do it all.

“We believe that it is not possible for government to satisfy everybody or do everything at the same time, thus, this informed us on the need to shoulder the scheme so as to assist the government in our bid to encourage the people on the need for them not to always wait for government on everything”, he added.

In her remarks, the Osun Commissioner for Women Affairs, Mrs Latifat Giwa, commended the organisation for being the bulwark of support to government and the people.

Giwa who had early commissioned part of the Centre said the gesture would go a long way in renewing hopes for women most especially the needy and less privileged among the women folks.

She called on other individuals and well-to-do Muslims to emulate the gesture as part of efforts to impact meaningfully in the lives of the people and as well strengthen their faith in God.

“This is great. This is edifice deserves commendation and acknowledgement as it would not only contribute to societal development but also helps in eradicating poverty, hunger and the scourge of unemployment among the females in the society.

I am very happy to be part of this programme as it shows that Islam and Muslims are peaceful people and lovers of development.

So, I am using this opportunity to appeal to our people, organisations and individuals most especial the riches on the need for them to imbibe this ideology and cue into it in our collective effort to advance our society and build a meaningful nation.
