Group Faults Attack on Aregbesola, APC Members

A political group, Ijesa North Patriots (INP), has condemned the attack on the Governor of Osun State, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola and some members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), at a political rally in Ilesa.
Chairman of the group, Lawrence Kolawole and Secretary, Mr. Tifase Afolabi, said this through a press statement on Monday.
According to Kolawole, political violence was becoming frequent in Ilesa, adding “Our appeal goes to those people who want to turn the six local government areas in Ijesa land into a war zone during the forthcoming polls to have a rethink and jettison acts that can cause panic among our people. “No matter the difference in party affiliations now, after the polls, we remain people of same blood.”
Afolabi also alleged that supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) were also attacked on several occasions, adding “There have been perceived clampdown on many helpless residents of the six local government areas in Ijesa land, believed to be sympathetic to the ambition of politicians,” he added.
