Governor Umo Eno wants journalists to collaborate with government for development

The Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno has called on journalists in the state to join hands with his administration in driving the state’s growth and development.
The Governor made this appeal during the 2025 Thanksgiving Service organized by the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), at The Apostolic Church in Ikot Ekpene Udo, Nsit Ubium Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom state.
Governor Eno applauded the NUJ for hosting the event, which was held to honor God, and commended the union for its role in fostering unity and peace within the state.
He emphasized his administration’s commitment to inclusive governance and its focus on a bottom-up approach to leadership.
The Governor also acknowledged the crucial role the media plays in shaping public opinion and urged journalists to work towards changing any negative narratives about the state.

He encouraged them to focus on Akwa Ibom’s achievements, opportunities, and growth potential while adhering to the highest standards of professionalism and objectivity.
As a gesture of support for the media, Governor Eno made significant donations to the NUJ. He presented a brand-new SUV to the NUJ Chairman and 14 salon cars to members of the NUJ Executive Council. Additionally, he pledged to complete the ongoing construction of the NUJ Secretariat building to further strengthen the union.
In his closing remarks, the Governor called on the people of Akwa Ibom to foster unity, support their leaders, and take collective responsibility for presenting the state in the best possible light to the world.
