Governor Kefas arms State Marshals with patrol vehicles, motorcycles in fresh security offensive
Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba State yesterday commissioned patrol vehicles and motorcycles for the Taraba State Marshals, a strategic escalation in the administration’s campaign to reclaim security amid persistent threats to communities across the state.
Represented by Hon. Nelson Cyprian Len, the governor handed over the assets at a ceremony attended by Secretary to the State Government, Chief Barr. GeeTee Kataps Ngwii, and heads of security agencies.
The move targets routine patrols, rapid response teams, and fortified community defence.
“The welfare and protection of Tarabans remain the top priority of this administration,” Hon. Len declared, framing the handover as proof of Kefas’ resolve.
He highlighted the marshals’ recent one-month training at the NYSC Orientation Camp from November to December 2025, equipping them for frontline duties.
Governor Kefas’ security playbook has been relentless: from vehicle donations to the military in September 2025, multi-agency summits, and vigilante integration into marshals, to Jalingo transport curbs against crime. Support now extends to police, NSCDC, and these local forces with logistics boosts.
Residents report gains—businesses rebounding, calm returning—tied to these investments, per Hon. Len. Yet challenges linger, including past insecurity spikes prompting enlarged security meetings.
The administration recommitted to round-the-clock vigilance under its constitutional mandate, vowing a Taraba “safe, peaceful, and primed for development.” Daily Times could not independently confirm the exact fleet size handed over.
