Gov Umahi to meet stakeholders on taxation

Worried by alleged outcry of heavy taxation in the state by Ebonyians, Governor of Ebonyi State, Engr. Dave Umahi has announced his administration’s readiness to meet with strategic stakeholders of the state to discuss issues arising from revenue collections to put an end the groaning and sufferings of traders and market women.
This is even as the governor has revealed that the state government hardly rakes in N25 million monthly from taxes and levies paid by business owners and others in the state.
Until now, there have been reports of alleged heavy taxation and illegal collections of fees by people known as revenue collection contractors, licensed by the state government to collect various taxes on its behalf.
