Gov. Tambuwal assures Air Peace of hitch free operations

Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto state has assured the management of Air Peace airline that the government would provide it with all the necessary support to ensure smooth and efficient flights.
Speaking yesterday during the Flag off of the Abuja-Sokoto-Abuja and Lagos-Sokoto-Lagos flight services, Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Bashir Garbage, also led other high ranking government officials to welcome the inaugural flight, a Boeing 737-300 aircraft.
According to the Governor “We will do everything possible to make sure that you would not regret extending your services to Sokoto State.”
The governor said air travelers in Sokoto are not happy with the experiences they have had with other airlines, hence the government decided to invite Air Peace to commence flight operations to the state.
Gov Tambuwal said all the necessary facilities have been provided for the airlines smooth operations adding that the people of the state were ready to do business with them.
Daily Times gathered that Tambuwal had on September 16, 2016 sent a five-man delegation led by the SSG to Lagos to meet with the Air Peace Management.
Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of Air Peace, Barr. Allen Onyema said the invitation by Sokoto State government coincided with the airline’s plan “to embark on a massive expansion project to connect different cities in Nigeria, Africa and other international destinations.”
Onyema who wws represented by the Quality and Safety Manager, Patrick Achurefe said the airline recognises Sokoto as “a very strategic economic and social capital in the North and Nigeria as a whole”, adding the airline is keen to partner the state and people of Sokoto to address the challenges of air travel in the area.
He said the commencement of the Sokoto flight was a new dawn for air travellers on the route, adding, “Prepare yourself for an exciting flight experience. We have come to Sokoto to inaugurate on-time departure, uncompromising premium on the safety and comfort of air travellers and affordable flight services.”
Onyema assured that “safety is the first law of business” at Air Peace, saying the airline maintains its aircraft at some of the best maintenance facilities in the world just as it has BCT Aviation of the United Kingdom on ground in Lagos to handle maintenance of its fleet 24 hours every day.
He said, “Air Peace is a symbol of hope and determination to offer nothing but the best. Since we started commercial flight operations on October 24, 2014, we upended route monopolies and set new parameters for providing air travel services in Nigeria.
“Our mission in the aviation industry is to make air travel seamless, safe, pleasurable and affordable. Our consistency in pursuing these objectives has established us as the preferred airline on the Abuja, Benin, Calabar, Uyo, Owerri, Enugu, Port Harcourt and Lagos routes.”
The inaugural flight arrived Sultan Abubakar International Airport, Sokoto enroute Abuja at about 12:45 p.m. amidst excitement and euphoria by travelers and the Sokoto state government officials.
