Gov Orji Pleads for Ikpeazu’s Support

Twelve days ahead of his exit as the governor of Abia State, Gov. Theodore Orji, on Sunday held a valedictory church service in Umuahia, while pleading for support for his succeseor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu.

Speaking during the occasion, held at the Ultra-modern Conference Centre, Ogurube Layout, Orji expressed his gratitude to God and to Abians for their support since his eight years sojourn as the governor of the state, describing his experience on the job as not an easy one.

“It is not easy thing to be a governor as the pains one has to go through is not known to people”, he said, adding that the lessons he learnt from his eight year sojourn was captured clearly by the Bible passage he read from Ecclesiasticus chapter 2, verses 1-11, stating that God controls all and also destines everybody.

The governor stated that some of his policies may have hurt some people but pleaded that such policies were in the interest of all.
