This Institution has been established as a School of Nursing and Midwifery by the Law No. 4 of 2006 and subsequently upgraded to the status of College by the Law No. 8 of 2022.
Since the establishment of this Institution in 2006, we have never witnessed a political regime in the State that constructed the whole complex within two years in office unless the present administration that came to rescue Zamfara State under His Excellency, the Executive Governor, Dr. Dauda Lawal.
Certainly, the present administration of His Excellency, the Executive Governor, Dr. Dauda Lawal deserved commendation for the construction of the following developmental projects in the Institution within two years in office:
Rejuvenation of the fence and College gate, Construction of Dr. Dauda Lawal Nursing Complex, rehabilitation of two blocks of Class Rooms with storey building, rehabilitation and Remodeling of Midwifery Class Rooms and offices, rehabilitation and Remodeling of Midwifery Demonstration Room, construction of five daily prayer Mosque in the Institution which has the capacity and possibility of being converted to Juma’at Mosque; and the provision of Higher powered Solar to all the above mentioned structure.

Purchasing of nearby land belonging to elder statesman, Alhaji Ahmad Roro for expansion of the College. Precisely, the rescue mission has rescued the Nursing profession in the State and the profession has nothing to say but thank you for safeguarding the Institution from total deteriorating.
“Some years back, we were highly skeptical whenever a team arrived in the State from Nursing Council or National Board For Technical Education, NBTE for accreditation exercises but now, we can say today, we are not afraid to receive whatever team that proposed to visit the Institution even if it were to be National University Commission, NUC Accreditation team” he said.
I wish to assure His Excellency that, all necessary mechanism has been provided by the Institution to ensure efficient and effective maintenance of all the properties put in place.
The provost mentioned the unforgettable contribution of His Excellency, Dr. Dauda to the Institution long before his plan to contest the position of a Governor.
The general public may wish to be informed that, His Excellency Dr. Dauda has before He came out to showcase His interest to the position of a Governor, constructed a very qualitative Female and Male Hostels in the Institution. The Female storey building with more than 20 Rooms has been named in memory of our grandmother Hajiya Lantana Hostel, the Hostel was designed with enhanced quality and is still being the only Hostel with modern design in the Institution.
Meanwhile, the Male Hostel constructed by His Excellency Dr. Dauda Lawal before he became a Governor is the only male Hostel currently in the Institution and it has been named in memory of our grandfather, Lawal Dare Hostel.
His Excellency may wish to be informed that, due to the recent development, the Institution proposed to introduce 3 more courses for the benefit of our dear State and Country at large, the courses are:
Pediatric Nursing, psychiatric Nursing and Community/Public Health Nursing;
Thank you, your Excellency, may God bless our dear State Zamfara and Nigeria in general. May God give us prosperity, peace and harmony in our state, Zamfara and the country at large.
