Giwa FC compounded the misery of newly promoted Ikorodu United when they defeated them 2-1 at the Onikan Stadium in Lagos on Sunday.
The Jos club now 10 points from six matches, while Ikorodu are stuck on five points.
Giwa took the lead after just five minutes through David Sunday.
However, the home team drew level on 17 minutes through Ifegwu Ojukwu, when he chipped over an onrushing goalkeeper Olorunleke Ojo.
But Giwa snatched a dramatic match winner two minutes from time when Amos Gyang finished off a training ground routine superbly.
