George Floyd before death

Floyd just like many became jobless after the global pandemic, coronavirus struck.

According to his longtime friend Christopher Harris, Floyd from his native Houston to Minneapolis several years ago in hopes of finding work and starting a new life.

 Floyd lost his job as a bouncer at a restaurant when Minnesota’s governor, Tim Walz issued a stay-at-home order.       

Police was called on the  46-year-old African-American on Monday night, at a Minneapolis grocery store by an employee accused him of trying to pass a counterfeit $ 20 bill. 

Officer Derek Chauvin quickly handcuffed Floyd and pressed him to the pavement with his knee on Floyd’s neck while he screamed ‘please’ till he passed out.

On Tuesday for officers were fired, on Wednesday, Mayor Jacob Frey called for Chauvin to be criminally charged, leaving out three officers, who were also at the scene.
