Ganduje’s wife not arrested by EFCC -Commissioner

Ganduje’s wife, Hafsat

The Kano State Government has denied reports of the arrest of Governor Abdullahi Ganduje’s wife, Hafsat, by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

A statement by the state Commissioner for Information, Muhammad Garba, expressed regrets that the “unfounded story” could not be attributed to any credible source such as the EFCC.

He added, “Most unfortunately, the fake story is being peddled on social media platforms without confirmation from either the government or the EFCC.”

It was reported by the media that the governor’s wife was interrogated by the anti-graft agency on Monday over a petition on land scam forwarded to the commission by the Governor’s son, AbdulAzeez Ganduje.

Mrs Ganduje had earlier been invited to report to the EFCC’s Abuja headquarters on 13th September 2021 but she didn’t appear because she travelled to the UK at the time to attend the graduation ceremony of her son.
