Kano State Governor Dr.Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has earmarked over N800 million for women development in the 2017 budget proposal before the State House of Assembly.
This was disclosed by the state’s Commissioner of Women Affairs and Social Development, Hajiya Yar-dada Bichi, on Tuesday during her ministry’s budget defence to the assembly’s house committee on women affairs.
The budget if approved will be used to ensure the well being of Women and children in the state, Bichi Stated.
She further assured that Kano State Governor, Dr Abdullahi Ganduje, has pledged to empower more women and children in different skills to make them self-reliant.
According to her, “despite the current economic challenges in the country, the State Government is doing everything possible to source for and provide more fund for state-wide development.
Further more the effort is to generate more funds, especially through internally generated revenue, to enable the government to execute more development oriented projects in the state.
She called on women in the state to continue to give the Ganduje’s administration more support to enable it fulfill its campaign promises.
