Ganduje congratulates Yilwatda on APC chairmanship, says his emergence is strategic

Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, immediate past national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has congratulated Nentawe Yilwatda Goshwe on his emergence as the new national chairman of the party.
In a statement he signed on Friday, Ganduje described Yilwatda’s emergence as strategic, noting that it comes at a critical period in the life of the APC.
The former Governor of Kano State expressed confidence in the capacity, intellect, maturity and administrative competence of the new chairman to move the party forward.
He also commended the APC National Executive Committee (NEC) and other party organs for ensuring a transparent and consensus-driven process that led to the emergence of the professor of engineering.
Ganduje urged the new national chairman to build on the foundations laid during his tenure, just as he built on the achievements of his predecessor.
He also expressed his appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima for their roles in guiding the transition process.
“Our President and Vice President have once again shown maturity and far-sightedness in the affairs of our great party. Their commitment to ensuring cohesion and stability within the APC is commendable, and I urge all stakeholders to rally round the new leadership to deliver on the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda,” he said.
“The National Working Committee (NWC), NEC, state chapters, youth and women wings, as well as all other stakeholders of the APC, should offer full cooperation and unwavering support to the new chairman, as unity, discipline, and loyalty must remain the cornerstone of the party under the new leadership.
“As I bow out with a sense of fulfilment, I wish to assure Prof Yilwatda of my unflinching support, counsel, and brotherly solidarity.”
He also urged that all our leaders, governors, lawmakers, and faithful party members across the federation queue behind him and give him the necessary backing to consolidate on our party’s vision of building a united, progressive, and inclusive political platform for all Nigerians,” he stated.
Ganduje pledged to continue offering his experience and political guidance whenever called upon, reaffirming his commitment to the APC’s growth and the country’s democratic development.
He prayed for divine wisdom, strength, and courage for Yilwatda as he assumes the mantle of leadership at a time of both opportunity and responsibility.
