Ganduje appoints Hussaini as COVID-19 response team coordinator
Kano state Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, has approved the appointment of Dr. Tijjani Hussaini, the executive secretary of the state Primary Health Care Management Board to be the voordinator of the technical response team on COVID-19.
This is contained in a press statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Mallam Abba Anwar, which said Hussaini has since swung into action as a sound health professional who understands his assigned responsibility.
He said as a coordinator he takes the responsibility of providing technical leadership against the global pandemic in the state.
A letter sent to the chairman of the state task force on COVID-19 from the governor’s office, states that “it has become imminent to appoint Dr. Tijjani Hussaini (executive secretary, State Primary Health Care Management Board) as the coordinator of this response, who shall provide technical leadership with immediate effect.

“All necessary and maximum cooperation should be accorded to him, please.
“I also urge you to continue to be courageous as you have been since the beginning of this response.
“Your efforts are been appreciated by the good people of Kano state, as we look forward to a successful containment of this pandemic.”
