The Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Malam Shehu Mohammed, has pledged enhanced service delivery and a renewed focus on road safety in 2025.
In his New Year message delivered in Abuja, Mohammed commended FRSC staff for their dedication, which contributed to notable achievements in 2024. He assured that the agency would build on these successes to further improve Nigerian road safety standards.
Mohammed emphasised that the welfare and training of FRSC personnel remain top priorities to boost productivity and service quality. “Management is committed to implementing welfare policies that will enhance morale and sustain high levels of productivity,” he stated.

Highlighting the importance of collaboration, the Corps Marshal called for stronger strategic partnerships with stakeholders to address road traffic challenges effectively. He also urged collective action to combat road crashes with greater determination in 2025.
Reflecting on 2024, Mohammed identified key challenges, including fatal crashes, drivers neglecting traffic rules, and instances of violence against FRSC personnel. He vowed to address these issues, stressing that traffic violations and hostile behaviours toward FRSC officers would not be tolerated.
“We have consistently reminded everyone that road crashes are preventable. This is why we enhanced our public awareness initiatives, including town hall meetings to engage diverse communities,” he said. Mohammed added that empowering passengers to hold drivers accountable has been a vital part of these efforts.
Despite provocations, he urged FRSC operatives to maintain professionalism through a civil approach to traffic management. Mohammed also expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for his support, which enabled the FRSC’s achievements in 2024.
He appealed to stakeholders to continue supporting the FRSC, emphasising that road safety requires collective effort from all sectors.
“Road safety is a shared responsibility that no single organisation or entity can tackle alone. We remain committed to greater vigilance on the highways and ensuring safer motoring experiences for all Nigerians in 2025,” Mohammed concluded, wishing the nation prosperity and safety in the coming year.
