Foundation donates drugs to Kano State Govt

A Kano based foundation Na Ma’ajin Watari Foundation has donated drugs to the Kano State government as part of its contribution to the state’s health sector.

Presenting the drugs to the state government at Murtala Muhammad Specialist hospital on Thursday, chairman of the foundation, Abba Ahmad Hakimin Kabo said that his foundation deems it necessary to compliment the state government’s effort at providing good health care delivery system to the people of the state considering remarkable developments recorded in the sector under the administration of Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.

Ahmad revealed that the foundation, aside assisting hospital with drugs, intend to train 30 girl child from SS1-SS3 and offer scholarships to those who emerge with good results at the end of their Senior Secondary school year to study Medicine in the University so as to increase the number of female doctors in the state.

While receiving the donation on behalf of the state government, the state’s Commissioner of Health Dr. Kabiru Ibrahim Getso emphasized that the state government is committed to providing good health care delivery system to the people of the state.

“You would recall that the president of Nigeria was in Kano on the 6th of this month to commission two multi billion naira modern hospitals completed by Governor Ganduje.

Also, the government has spent over N352 million in recent time to purchase Anti Malaria drugs and other test kits which were distributed to 748 hospitals in the state as part of efforts to combat malaria cases in the state which were given free to patients in the 44 local government areas of the state.

Getso appreciated the gesture and called on others to emulate the gesture as the state has benefited severally from the foundation in the past.

Drugs donated include anti biotics, sickle cell drugs, anti malaria drugs, among others.
