Former Spokesman Ologbondiyan Quits PDP Amidst Party Crisis
Kola Ologbondiyan, the former National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has formally resigned from the party, citing “personal reasons” for his exit.
Ologbondiyan announced his decision in a letter addressed to the PDP Ward Chairman in Okekoko Ward 9, Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area of Kogi State.
In the resignation letter, the former party spokesman expressed gratitude for the opportunities afforded him during his time in the PDP.
“Let me start by thanking you as well as other levels of leadership in the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for the opportunities provided for me to serve the party as well as our fatherland, Nigeria,” the letter read.
“It is now imperative to bring your attention to the fact that I have reviewed my participation in the PDP and came to the conclusion that, for personal reasons, I need to make my exit.”
“I have therefore come to a decision to formally withdraw my membership of the PDP, henceforth”.
While Ologbondiyan did not explicitly link his resignation to the ongoing internal crisis within the party, reports indicate he is expected to join the African Democratic Congress (ADC), a growing opposition coalition.
His departure adds to the wave of resignations hitting the PDP amidst its protracted leadership tussle.
