Former Nigeria First lady, Patience Jonathan Celebrates

Unlike her previous birthday, the former Nigeria first lady, Dame Patience Jonathan celebrated her 60th birthday in low-key style. Although, she had announced before the D-day she doesn’t want an elaborate birthday due to the hardship within the country.

The septuagenarian rather than rolling out drums in celebration decided to celebrate with few friends, family and well-wisher around her. Before then, close friends and well-wishers of the former first lady were planning to throw her a lavish party, in commemoration of the big 60, but were shocked by Dame Jonathan’s refusal to have a lavish celebration. Surprisingly, she asked her friends not to bother wishing her through the usual congratulatory messages, featured in major national newspapers.

According to her, she has decided to celebrate her 60th birthday in an austere due to the hash economy situation within the country.

Trust Nigerians, some have attributed this to her incessant crisis, corruption and embezzlement of public funds levelled against her by the Economic Financial Crime Commission.

It would be recalled, that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), acting on the injunctions of the Federal High court, is pushing for Dame Jonathan’s forfeiture of $5.8m to the Federal Government.
