Former Guinea and AC Milan ace Constant retires

Former Guinea and AC Milan midfielder Kevin Constant on Monday night announced his retirement from football at the age of 32.

The former France youth star made the announcement on his official Instagram page on Monday evening. Constant said that he was quitting football due to personal reasons.

“It was the most difficult decision of my life. It is with great sadness that I say goodbye to football. It is time for me to dedicate my time to my children, my family and my future projects.”

He was last signed to Iranian side Tractor and has played for Guinea 24 times scoring four goals.

He started his football career side, Toulouse, coming through the ranks and making his first senior appearance in 2006. He later crossed over to Ligue 2 side Chateauroux in search of more playing time.

In 2010, he joined Chievo on loan and was later confirmed in June 2011. A month later he moved to Genoa.

In 2012 he moved to Milan once again on loan before making it a permanent move in 2013. A year later he moved to Turkish side Trabzonspor where his contract was terminated in 2015 before returning to Italy two years later to join Bologna.

In January last year, Constant signed a three-and-half year deal Persian Gulf Pro League side Tractor. However, the contract was terminated by the club six months later after he failed a medical.

On Monday, he decided to hang his boots permanently from football.
