Folio Group appoints Otosirieze Obi-Young as writer, editor

Folio Group, publishers of Daily Times Newspaper and other titles, have announced the appointment of Otosirieze Obi-Young as editor and writer for Folio.ng.

His appointment is contained in a statement by the management of Folio Group issued in Abuja.
The statement reads: “We are proud to welcome a great talent on-board.
“Otosirieze Obi-Young is an award-winning writer and editor. He won the inaugural The Future Awards Africa Prize for Literature in 2019 and was among Avance Media’s 2020 list of the 100 most influential young Nigerians.
“His short stories and literary commentary have appeared in The Threepenny Review and Transition. In 2018, he was named a judge for The Gerald Kraak Prize. In 2019, he joined the judging panel for The Miles Morland Foundation Writing Scholarship. He is an editor at 14, Nigeria’s first queer art collective, and is the founder of the Art Naija Series anthologies.”
Before his appointment, Obi-Young was deputy editor at Brittle Paper, a literary platform, from November 2016 to April 2020.
He was also a lecturer at the Godfrey Okoye University, Enugu from January 2017 to August 2018.
The 26-year-old was named as one of the top editors and curators from Africa by Witsprouts in a 2019.
His appointment is expected to take effect officially from Monday, 18th May 2020.
