Flying Eagles survive Ivorian scare in a 2-2 draw
Manu Garba’s side finished as Group A winners after coming from behind twice to force their west African foes to a draw on Saturday
Nigeria U20 team played a 2-2 draw with their Cote d’Ivoire U20 opponents in the last Group A game of the African Youth Championship on Saturday.
Goals from Christian Pyagbara and a second half penalty strike from captain Musa Muhammed were all the Flying Eagles needed to end the preliminary round unbeaten and will now face either Mali or Ghana in the semis of the championship on Wednesday.
The match played at the Stade Caroline Faye, M’Bour saw Anderson Niangbo put Ibrahim Kamara’s side who needed a win ahead in the fourth minute after drilling a shot past goalkeeper Ojo Olorunleke after beating his markers.
