The Nigeria Floorball Association under the auspices of the International Floorball Federation, has concluded plans to hold their first programme which is the beginners clinic holding on November 4 and 5, 2017 at the conference hall of the Nigeria Olympic Committee, National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos, while the practical aspect of the programme takes place at the National Institute for sports within the National Stadium complex.
President of the Nigeria Floorball Association, Miss Edith Chinenye Mmaduka, who revealed this in Lagos said a total of hundred participants drawn from across the country would pitch up for the two-day exercise which has Mr. Petteri Bergius as the course facilitator.
Excited that the course is eventually holding before the end of the year 2017, Mmaduka said she is indeed happy as that would enable her Association to kick start their programme of activities on a full scale.
According to her, the Association decided to first equip and train the trainers who will then move into the grassroots to spread their tentacles for the gospel of their talent hunt developmental programme.
“Our mission is to groom the coaches through what we call train the trainers. Thereafter, the coaches would then move into the grassroots for the talent hunt and catch them young developmental event. That is why we have decided to start with the clinic,” Mmaduka said.
She further promised that her federation will use floorball to create the needed empowerment for Nigerians including the youths of this nation through laudable projects and advised parents to always allow their children to practice the sport which will make them better sportsmen and women tomorrow.
