Flood claims 4 lives, destroys 5,200 homes across 20 council areas in Kano

A flood caused by torrential rainfall has claimed four lives and destroyed 5,200 homes in Rogo and Danbatta council areas of Kano state, emergency officials say.
Daily Times gathered that the flooding was an aftermath of heavy rainfall across 20 council areas, predicted by the Nigeria Meteorological Agency.
In Rogo, two people died and some 200 homes were destroyed. In Danbatta, another two people died and more than 5,000 homes were destroyed.

Executive secretary of Kano State Emergency Management Agency, Sale Jili, said “We deployed assessment teams to the affected areas.
We also visited Rogo and Danbatta to sympathise with the victims over the disaster.
